Critique 3 – Context (Dowsett)

Photos capture the experience of the photographer as well as the subject.

My work articulates the way in which I as a photographer interact with my context and illustrates the intense backdrops on which we live. The monstrous urban city, swaths of forrest, pillars of rock, immeasurable oceans: these are bodies I set out to explore and capture. While I try to interact with my human and natural subjects as much as possible, I also play with light, geometry, and reflection to more genuinely portray the human experience of the moment.
